We need someone knowledgeable in the health industry that could lead this group to make an impact on more sustainable health services for the Tampa bay area.

Comment by Eric Stewart on May 11, 2012 at 11:10am Hi Rita or Bruce would you like to be taught how to use this group? Or some ideas to get conversations rolling? I can help you modify the group to your needs.
Comment by Eric Stewart on April 11, 2012 at 1:52pm For starters- what image should be used for the group?
Comment by Eric Stewart on April 9, 2012 at 2:56pm Sure,
I think opening up a variety of topics to begin with would help. Discuss ways we can promote wellness. See how we can tie Health into other fields as well in order to keep healthy during a possible downturn in economy or upturn in energy costs. Create discussions and submit ideas on how to organize this group page ( I just made a basic template feel free to edit it or ask me to change the layout)
Comment by Rita Sewell on April 7, 2012 at 10:14pm Eric I am not ready to lead but will collaborate. Each member of Code Green Community might consider a pledge to do their best to seek health through life balance. A personal permaculture. Functional Medicine in the template of this philosophy. Whole real food, rest and recreation, and service meaningful work can be a place to start. As a community we can lead by example.
Comment by Bruce Harrow on September 10, 2011 at 8:54am I'm a Geriatrician, originally FP trained, also Hospice certified, working in a means-tested, function-tested, not-for-profit primary care system here in St Pete.
The current medical system is Monsanto-ized. But just as permaculturists still use shovels and pickup trucks, a transitioned health care system still needs a few operating rooms and cheap insulin to go along with much expanded disease prevention strategies. 80% of illness (colds, allergies, back pain etc etc) can be treated as well or better by non-allopathic means. I'd like to learn more myself.

0 Comments 0 FavoritesBy giving to Code Green Community you are contributing to a movement that is organizing the local bio-region of Tampa Bay to coordinate a localized shift in our economy towards a transition away from fossil fuels. This is an investment for the future. We are the ones we have been waiting for. These donations will be utilized to increase the effectiveness of our website and set-up future events and projects.
