Permablitz

http://permablitz.com/

Permablitz (noun): An informal gathering involving a day on which a group of at least two people come together to achieve the following:

* create or add to edible gardens where someone lives
* share skills related to permaculture and sustainable living
* build community networks
* have fun

Permablitzes are free events, open to the public, where you learn a lot, share food, get some exercise and have a wonderful time.

If you come to three or so permablitzes we can help organize one at your house. That's right. Permablitz is based on reciprocal volunteer support. Once you've been to a few we can help connect you to a volunteer or professional permaculture designer, help you plan your blitz, promote it, and co-ordinate it on the day. For free.

We Grow From Here Community Gardening Project

If you have a gardening project of your own to start (aka Permablitz), please do come to my open house!  I am more than happy to help with others' starting up!

I've started asking everyone to SAVE PIZZA BOXES - what better way to recycle the otherwise unrecycleable cardboard than in a garden?

Hey guy's,

I am sending an appeal for help for a few hours on Sunday 6/26 at12:30. Nothing really formal and really geared toward Clearwater folks but all are welcome.

I have managed to cripple myself and, while the previous blitz at the UU Garden thrives, the larger project vision has languished as a result. I was asked by an elderly member to direct him in completion of a Huegel Kultur bed from the comfort of my wheelchair. I want to get him some help.

I had already dug the trench before my accident so it will just consist of filling it with brush and leaf mold that is on site and mounding. I also hope to arrange for manure or seaweed to be brought in by any volunteers. I hope to plant fruit trees in this bed ultimately.

If you would like to help, you may leave a comment or simply show up at 2470 Nursery Rd, Clearwater, 33764 with whatever tool best fits your hand (we have a limited supply as well).

We have a few members interested in starting up the permablitz on a regular basis again. Please add your thoughts and lets work on getting a detailed plan on how we will do permablitz from now on.
