Eric, I have partnered with a number of organizations in the past where we handed out each other's literature. Would you be interested in doing something like that? We attend a number of events. I think it would be really cool to be able to show how many organizations actually exist in Tampa Bay who are working towards Transition..

I need help tabling events.  I have had several requests to host tables to pass out information about the website. I would like to attend all these events but don't sometimes have the capability to. I was wondering if people would help me out occasionally for big events by manning a booth and talking about the website. Thanks. ( I used funds allocated through donations to fulfill the Green Map initiative in the Food Group. This is a letter we are apparently part of the 750 green map around the world, I'll be posting more info in the food work group)

Hello Mapmakers

750 Green Map projects! Our network has achieved a great milestone with yesterday's new Green Map projects in Ogaki Gifu Japan and Tampa Bay Florida! Congratulations to these communities and all impacted by Green Mapmakers around the world!! And today, Chico California has joined us, too so we are already on our way to 800. I'm really pleased and thank all of you for your efforts to reach out to more communities and promote the global program through your blogs, websites and maps!

More news soon, but I wanted to mention I am planning to the EcoCity World Summit - http://www.ecocity2011.com in Montreal in August - is anyone else going, and want to share a room? A Green Map presentation is on Thursday Aug 25. 

We are working on the FAQ for the http://lab.greenmap.org right now, and will let you know when it's online.

I added the bylaws of Code Green Community, I would like to revise them but first need volunteers willing to be on the board of directors to officially make Code Green Community a 501c3.  If we can establish a non-profit status we can fundraiser and apply for grants more easily. We can establish programs that will help grow the movement throughout the Tampa bay area. I am looking for people willing to be creative and explore what we can do. Directorship will be a voluntary un-paid position and we will meet monthly using skype. You will have some responsibilities as well. Please Email codegreencommunity@gmail.com if your interested.

added a skype name list discussion- please comment to keep a running list of skype names and availabilities. Skype Name List  - we could accomplish a lot breaking up into break out groups via online skyping on certain subjects. Perhaps we really need is a mindmap of what we all would collectively like to see come out of the network in the Tampa bay area.

@!Jim: Thanks for stating what should be obvious. I don't think it's nitpicking at all. Without the land, no life, no people, no sustenance.

It's an index of how far off course we've wandered that the dominant conversation completely ignores this survival truth.

Our search for jobs (dollars) has lured us to distant places, leaving the land (and the place-based communities we once called home) behind.  We've traded social capital for financial capital. Having adopted a grass-is-always-greener mentality, our challenge now is how to re-anchor ourselves locally, to the land.

Online Skype steering conversation. I wanted to know if you all would be interested in meeting online with a formal minutes and utilize skype to fufill a meeting for this month. We can talk about the upcoming events and help coordinate for projects from the comfort of our home. Let me know if you don't know what Skype is or how to acquire it.  What would be a best possible time? I'm thinking 7pm on a Weds. or Tuesday evening.

Hi everyone, I need your input about the 350.org May 14-15th garden day. I would like to have this be a nice event across the Tampa bay with multiple garden workshop areas where people can come and volunteer for a few hours. The idea is plug and play. How can we effectively do this?
