Hey leaders in the Tampa Bay area! I want to get as many people involved in this challenge that 350.org is hosting. The idea is to grow or start a garden on either May 14th or 15th this year in honor of getting to work on the environmental and energy challenges facing our society. Lets work at organizing a well though out weekend of action across the Tampa bay area planting gardens.

We will need organizers in every town, places to place the garden (either in community or at someone's home)  as well as individual action by members. We can engage with local organizations and governments as well. Lets show the Tampa Bay area how important it is to grow our food out of our own backyards. During WW2 Americans grew 40% of their vegetables out of their backyards lets bring back the Victory Garden movement.

Below is information from a California group: We can replicate what they did by having these tools available for the Tampa Bay area.

We can compile some free information, a demo video, and links to local designers/landscappers that are interested in the challenge. This would be a great way to get the idea out as well.

Our St. Pete Gaia's Garden group is already committed to Faith House community garden---maybe we can set up a work day there to coincide with this 350.org event???

Most Definitely Mary Ann we can have work dates all across the bay, its just about having committed people at the garden that gives direction and something to do.
Maybe we can do the Clearwater UU Church that weekend.
Yeah I think they may be planning the garden in April but definitely will be planting plants that month!
