To the Editor:
Over the next couple of weeks, Pasco County will reach out to its citizens in an effort
to gain input on the county's future. The response to this effort and the potential
feedback is invaluable and it’s constructive in determining the levels of service Pasco
County provides.
Pasco County residents are urged to participate and share their ideas
and suggestions for how county government can improve. There are a few ways
residents and business owners can let their voice be heard.
First, attend one of three community meetings on April 7th, 12th or the 18th. The
evening engagements will be held at the West Pasco Government Center in New Port
Richey and the Historic Courthouse in Dade City. For specific times please go to our
website at www.bringingopportunitieshome.com or ‘like us’ on Facebook at “Bringing
Opportunities Home to Pasco County,” to follow our updates.
Citizens can also take an online survey at the same website. In fact, I urge you to do
both. Many of the topics in the survey will be unlike the presentations given at the
community meetings.
Finally, if you cannot make it to one of our community meetings, the April 12
meeting will be broadcast live on Pasco County Government Television; Brighthouse
Networks channel 622 or Verizon channel 42.
It is vital that our citizens' voices are heard as we move through the current budget
process, our LEAP (Lean, Efficient, Accountable Pasco) initiative and the continuing
strategic planning process. Your feedback will directly impact decisions that must
be made regarding the future growth and development of Pasco County, as well as
services that can be provided in this tough economic climate.
The survey results and feedback from public meetings will be compiled into a draft
report that will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners in May. The final
results will also be posted to the website above, on Facebook and also at
www.pascocountyfl.net .
Pasco County values citizen input and I appreciate your time and effort to share your
ideas and views with us. If you are unable to attend one of the community meetings
or take the survey, please visit our website, click on the Customer Comment card
and submit your feedback there. You will also be able to recap this process on our
Government TV channel. In May, our Pasco 360 program will feature your input and
the public outreach process.
As always, we look forward to hearing from you as we strive to keep “Bringing
Opportunities Home” to Pasco County.
John J. Gallagher
County Administrator
